this compatibility pack if you are using Office 2000, 2002 or 2003. Ten Commandments of HHCOS REMEMBER THURSDAY evenings to keep them wholly for Choral. THOU SHALT not tarry without the doors or on the stairs. THOU SHALT give ear to the voice of your Conductor and hearken not to the babble of your neighbour. THOU SHALT not raise thy voice above thy neighbours - for this is the Choral law. (unless they’re going wrong!) THOU SHALT not worship thy score unduly, for the eyes are the windows of the soul and if they be glued to the paper, how shall the soul be lighted? (i.e. watch!) THOU SHALT not lean upon thy neighbour but cultivate thine own understanding for he that followeth his neighbour from bar to bar shall stumble and perish, but he that counteth his own time, can in no wise enter in at the wrong place. (probably goes for both types of ‘bar’.!) THOU SHALT not grouse. (nor drink it before rehearsal). THOU SHALT not contemplate thy neighbour’s hat, not her coat nor her furs nor her ring nor any new thing that is thy neighbours, lest when thy turn cometh, thou be taken unaware and utterly confounded. THOU SHALT not break thy covenant with the Choral to follow after thy wife, nor thy best girl, nor thy second best girl nor thy friend nor thy enemy, for the Choral will not hold him worthy that turneth ‘yay’ to ‘nay’. HONOUR THY Choir and thy Conductor and forget not regular attendance. (here, here! AED) With thanks to Louisa. |
